Brower Center Tours
Request a tour of the David Brower Center to get an in-depth look at Berkeley’s premiere destination for sustainability. Each 30 to 60 minute tour includes a review of the building's state-of-the-art green features.
We will do our best, given the availability of staff at the time you would like to visit, to schedule a tour for you, but please note that not all requests can be fulfilled.
Green from the ground up, the Brower Center is a powerful model of sustainable, mixed-use development. This tour will give you a look into energy-saving and innovative technologies, including the collection and reuse of rainwater for irrigation and toilet flushing, the extensive use of recycled building materials, and the use of vertical post-tensioned structures to minimize potential damage due to earthquakes. Find out how the Brower Center earned a LEED Platinum rating, the highest possible rating from the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
Depending on staff availability, you can book a free private tour for you group of 4 to 50 people. Youth and adults are welcome.
Tours will start and end on time. You may also want to allow yourself time before or after your tour to see our Hazel Wolf Gallery—please check the current gallery business hours before planning your visit.
We invite you to bring a lunch to enjoy on our terrace after your tour. Please note that the terrace is occasionally unavailable due to private event bookings.
