Darfur Stoves Project
The Darfur Stoves Project (DSP) is the flagship project of the
organization Technology Innovation for Sustainable Societies. The aim of
the Darfur Stoves Project is to equip every displaced household in Darfur
with a fuel efficient Berkeley-Darfur Stove. Since 2004, the conflict has
left over two million Darfuris internally displaced. The Berkeley-Darfur
Stove® reduces the need for Darfuri women, living in displacement camps,
to take long, unsafe journeys or spend money to obtain firewood. Our
mission is to improve the safety and wellbeing of Darfuri people by
providing cook-stoves that use less than half the fuel required in
traditional cooking methods.
